<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">When you are using multiple email programs on the same, sometimes there comes the need to have a default email program every time you need to send email, for contacts and calendars. Now you can ensure that MS Office Outlook is used when you send e-mail messages from any non-mail program.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">When MS Outlook is not your default e-mail program, then you might come across following situations:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">If you try to send a spreadsheet to a mail recipient from Microsoft Office Excel that is on a computer that has Office Outlook and Outlook Express installed, Office Outlook might not be used to send the e-mail message.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">If you click a link on a Web page that is intended to open a new message window, your computer might not open the Outlook new e-mail message window, or it might use a mail program other than Outlook.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">When you send a file from a program by pointing to <strong>Send To</strong> on the <strong>File</strong> menu, and then clicking <strong>Mail Recipient</strong>, the email program that is set as your default mail client is used to send the file.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">But not to worry you can make Outlook your default email program and for that you need to perform the following steps:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">On the <strong>Tools</strong> menu in Office 	Outlook, click <strong>Options</strong>, and then click the <strong>Other</strong> tab.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Under <strong>General</strong>, select the 	<strong>Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and 	Calendar</strong> check box.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">You can take help of Kernel for PST software to <a title="Repair Outlook PST" href="http://www.repairoutlookpst.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Repair Outlook PST</strong></a> in case of corruption in Outlook .PST file.</p>

For example when you try launching Microsoft Outlook 2007, you might encounter error message mentioned below:</span></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-weight: normal;" align="justify">“<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><em>Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.”</em></span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">After the occurrence of this error message, you find it difficult to start MS Outlook as well as opening your default profile. After reinstallation of application, you still come across the issue. Some possible reason for the issue persistence is:</span></span></span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-weight: normal;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Outlook navigation 	pane is problematic</span></span></p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-weight: normal;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Outlook PST is corrupt</span></span></p>
</li>
</ul>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-weight: normal;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Fix these issues with the help of solutions given below:</span></span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">Reset navigation pane- In order to reset the navigation pane, go to Start &gt; Run and type ‘Outlook.exe/resetnavpane’. Restart Outlook and see if the problem is resolved. </span></span></span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-weight: normal;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">If the above mentioned solution doesn’t works, delete the corrupt Outlook profile and create a new one with the previous account settings. Now attach the old Outlook data file (PST) to this newly create profile</span></span></p>
</li>
<li>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">If MS Outlook still doesn’t works and the error message pops up again then possibly the pst file is damaged. You need to repair the corrupt Outlook pst first by using Outlook Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe). The file is located at this location- :\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12</span></span></span></p>
</li>
</ul>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="justify"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">In case this tool fails to </span></span></span><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><strong>repair Outlook pst</strong></span></span><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">, then we suggest you to use a third party Outlook repair utility. Owing to its advanced and safe techniques, it can repair Outlook pst easily, so that no instance of corruption may halt your work. </span></span></span></p>
