Understanding the PST File

Personal Storage Table (PST) is an Outlook’s storage file where emails, notes, contacts, and other related items are stored. When you start Outlook then it establish communication with your mailbox on Exchange Server and downloads your emails, notes, saved emails (drafts), contacts, etc. into your Outlook profile. If any problem occurs in the PST file then Outlook cannot access your emails and related items into your Outlook profile. Problem in PST file leads to data loss that is everything stored in PST file gets lost. You loss all of your emails, notes, contacts, attachments, embedded images, hyperlinks, etc. Can you imagine losing such an important data? Nobody does that. So, the question is how will you get the lost data back.

Answer for the question is repairing of the PST file, which has been damaged due to logical or physical reasons. Despite the reason of the file’s damage, we just need to know that how to repair the PST file. One can repair the damaged PST file using Kernel for Outlook – Repair Outlook PST software. To use the software, you need to execute the following steps:

  1. Download and install the software.

  2. Browse the location of damaged PST file. If you do not know the location of PST file then execute the following steps:

  1. Select the Account Settings option in the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Data Files tab.

  3. Copy the location of PST file.

  1. Paste the copied location in the Browse for PST dialog box of Kernel for Outlook.

  2. Start the scanning process.

After the software completes the scanning process, you will be provided with the Repair PST file that you can import into your Outlook profile.
